We feel very strongly that we should take care to keep the Coton breed as healthy as possible. There are two genetic mutations that we test for which cause CMR2 and Neo-Natal Ataxia. No mutation has been detected in any of our dogs and none of them are carriers. We strongly advise anybody looking for a puppy to check that the breeder is doing these tests.
Phoebe was our first coton and we have shown her quite extensively. She is friendly and outgoing, loves her toys and enjoys playing with all the other dogs. She has had one litter and is a brilliant mum.
Strips was born in Italy and came over to England to join Hazel and Gordon at their Cotonkiss home. She came to us last year and has become part of the family. She has a lovely calm nature and is a superb mother. She has now retired from breeding having had her last litter born on 6th April 2009. She will be staying with us for the rest of her life. Further photos can be seen on the grooming page.
Mia is Lily's daughter. She is just delightfully calm, warm-hearted and confident with people. She has qualified for Crufts 2010 and 2011. We are hoping to mate her when she comes into season this spring. Mia has had her eyes tested for PRA, CMR2 test is clear and patellas clear. She has been DNA profiled.
Crufts 2011 Best Dog in Breed, Johnny Be Good (13/09/2009) is our lovely dog bred by us. His mother is Phoebe and Father is Bar-Ken's Cowboy Tango. He has done well in his showing in 2010, gaining the honour of being joint Top Puppy in Breed. Everybody who meets him falls in love with him. He is such a wonderful character. He has had his eyes tested for PRA, CMR2 test is clear and patellas clear. He has been DNA profiled.
Johnny is now available for stud.
